Cecilia & Jake : Engagement : Burlington
Summer is for weddings. Late fall is for holiday card photos. And then there's babies, they have no particular season . . . they're on their own schedule. But when there isn't a winter babe beckoning, after the New Year it's time for Engagement shoots! Meet one of my 2013 couples Cecila and Jake. We walked around Burlington this past weekend, chatting about wedding details (Sugarbush!) and watching the snow melt. They were sweet, excited about their wedding and so in love. Sometimes I have to urge my couples to be affectionate, but not these two. It's going to be a great day in July!

Owens : Family : Burlington, VT
I have been itchin' to get some snow in my family portraits and I got the chance just this past weekend. Most clients want either the blue sky of summer or autumn foliage as their chosen environment, but hey, we're Vermonters! Let's give our longest season a little photo love too. And just look at what can happen. Those magical little orbs make me happy. Yes, you may have to take an enormous number of photos because those little orbs like to cover an eye or look like they're coming out of a nose, but a little more editing and culling makes it worth it with results like this. So all you people out there waiting for next summer to get the family together for a shoot, shift your paradigm!
Next challenge. . . mud season. Who wants to get dirty?

The Ciccarellis : Family : Vermont
This weekend I got to meet this little guy. Oh so adorable, as was his fuzzy friend. Little babies and dogs, something I sorely miss as we no longer have either in our house. Thank you Ciccarellis, for giving me a fix! And I may get a chance to get another as it seems it's not an official shoot unless I leave a piece of equipment behind. So I'll be back to pick up a lens later this week. Maybe I'll get a wet lick and a chubby cheeked smile too. But more than likely, I'll just make the dog bark and wake up the baby. Let me apologize in advance as that I remember too.
